1st Defense Martial Arts was born out of experience and the drive to open a welcoming, inclusive martial arts school in Essex and in 2006, 1st Defense Martial Arts was opened.

With 34 years of training, teaching and experience, Mr. Cammalleri has owned and operated 1st Defense Martial Arts for over a decade in Essex and has devoted his time, skill and knowledge to it’s surrounding community to portray a positive role model for children and adults while they train in self-defense and self-Improvement.

1st Defense is a true black belt school, which has had the pleasure to produce many outstanding black belt students, as well as training students starting as young as 6 all the way into adulthood!
